Our client, an industry leading organisation who specialises in engineering and manufacturing, are looking for a Buyer to join their ambitious and growing team. You will be responsible for the cost and quality of both the product and delivery, organising a timely supply of parts and products for the business.

RESPONSIBILTIES

As a Buyer, you will be,

• Responsible for the cost, quality, and delivery performance of suppliers, ensuring timely deliveries of parts and services
• Supporting the internal maintenance, repair, and overhaul spares
• Scheduling, placing, and managing all purchasing documentation, including design data packs, and request for quotations
• Managing material demands in line with the business’ financial budget
• Collaborating with suppliers and the production planning team to monitor the Open Order Book
• Communicating cost variances and delivering opportunities for a total cost of acquisition reduction suggestions
• Attending internal supply meetings to support Value Stream forecasts and customer demand reviews, and visiting suppliers in person when required

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

To be considered for the role of Buyer, you will need,

• Previous experience in a purchasing/procurement/supply chain role
• Happy to consider more junior candidates i.e., recent graduates within a relatable degree or perhaps someone with a quality background who is looking to transfer their skills
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to negotiate
• Good organisation and decision-making skills
• Experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment is desirable
